Some 15 players from different teams that we played accepted Christ including our bus driver!  There will be follow up with several of these new believers. We partnered with Sports Ministers (3 Peruvians-Robert, Gerson, Leo- played with us) who will be able to carry the torch well we are gone. Robert (Bible  Institute Director  and missionary Tom Hough are thinking of putting together a team of CCB (Bible Institute) graduates and having the team go up and down the Ucayali doing Sports Ministry.

God pulled a team of players from 3 different countries, and from ages 16-42 and bonding them in a very short time. As we prayed God answered and was so gracious and kind throughout the trip in providing for us over and over again. We thank God for the kindnesses of many people who took such good care of us and treated us so graciously. God brought Hugo Galeano to us from . He previously played with the Charlotte Eagles, but on a tour in 2002 to his American visa expired and was not allowed to return to the States.  God used him to impact our team and the players from the other teams we faced in a mighty way.

The in reach within the team got better and better as the players bonded in love more and more, and the Holy Spirit moved as the tour progressed. There was some sickness, but God provided healing for some as we prayed over them. God also provided the opportunity to model Christ’s love through Sports Ministry with the children as they are often neglected in the Peruvian culture.  It certainly was a time of growth for many of the participants as well as for the Peruvians in the abundant life that God has to offer!
