Seahorses sign Goalkeeper Hayden Coffman

The Seahorses are excited to announce Hayden Coffman as their returning Goalkeeper for the 2014 PDL season. This will be the signing of Hayden's second season with us. Hayden has played for the past 4 years at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville Tennessee.  His last PDL season was difficult and challenging for Coffman due to an injury that did not allow him to play for most of the season.  In spite of his injury Hayden was a huge asset to the team and we are looking forward to having him back this coming season.

Before making the decision to come back and play with the Seahorses, he was offered to play Professional soccer with our sister team in Charlotte.  "I had to make the biggest decision of my life. Do I play professional ball which has been a dream of mine all of my life or play for the Seahorses.  After a lot of prayer and fasting I knew that the Seahorses were where God wanted me to be. I really love the decision I made and I wouldn't change it for the world."

Coffman can't wait also to be a part of the Seahorses Summer camps again. "I loved being a part of Summer camps.  I got to give back to the game that has given so much to me.  To see kids the first day who have never played soccer by the end of the week fall in love with soccer. Being able to see kids come to Christ for the first time was amazing it was out of this world."

Hayden is looking forward to being challenged and taken out of his comfort zone again this next season. He is ready for what the Lord has for Him both on and off the field.  "Hayden sets the standard for the type of Christian player that we desire to be a part of our team.  He is a gifted athlete who has placed his desire to play professionally at the Lords feet.  Hayden is an asset both on and off the field and has already made an impact on our organization.  He was my first selection this season and as a competitor I know that Hayden will tend the goal well." - Coach Jackman

Below is a testimonial of one of last seasons Host Families.

"We have been a host family for the last two years for the Seahorses.  The main reason why we decided to be a host family is because my husband and I have always had a heart for missions.  In our early adult life we both went on many short term missions trips.  However, once we had children it was hard to continue.  So we look for different avenues to show our children how we as a family can be involved in missions.  One way has been to be a host family.  We are a busy household with five kids (ages 9, 9, 7, 6, and 6), but we still enjoy being a blessing to others.  The two seasons we have hosted both players and coaches have been amazing.  Our children have experienced helping others as a family and they have had many Godly mentors.  The men involved with the Seahorse program are amazing to say the least.  It has been a wonderful experience to have them in our house and become part of our family.  When the time has come for them to leave it is always hard to say goodbye.  We enjoy the lasting friendships and memories we have made and look forward to more in the future."
